Ion Audio released iPA03 iPod PA System

Ion Audio released an iPod capable PA system designed for broadcasting the music player audio outdoors or at other public events. Named the iPA03, it consists of a one-piece, stage-class stereo loudspeaker that broadcasts the audio from an iPod at professional line-out quality, according to the manufacturer. The speaker is designed to operate in tandem with other live performance equipment with connections for an XLR microphone, instruments, and RCA audio sources with individually adjustable gain levels on all three inputs. Ion Audio's system is transportable via wheels with a retractable handle, and is pole-mountable. The iPA03 works with all dockable iPods through a Universal Dock adapter and is shipping from online retailer zZounds for 400 USD.

iLuv ships i9200 speaker system

iLuv has begun shipping its i9200 speaker system. The main receiver features four vertically-mounted CD loaders and a CD changer, allowing audiophiles who prefer physical media to quickly exchange discs while keeping favorites close at hand, according to Electronista. Less conventional listeners can also play MP3 CDs or connect an iPod via a universal dock that supports all dockable iPods. The i9200 also integrates an AM/FM alarm clock radio, and includes auxiliary inputs for playing music from other audio devices. iLuv is shipping the i9200 in black or white for 250 USD.

Xmod audio adapter by Creative

Creative has unveiled Xmod audio adapter, a device offering USB connectivity that converts audio up to a 24-bit signal before it reaches speakers. The adapter uses a proprietary crystalizer to analyze compression artifacts and repair lost audio quality.
Xmod audio adapter requires no driver software installation, enabling users of Mac OS X Panther systems or later to simply plug the device into their computers and speakers. The Xmod plugs into portable media players such as Apple iPod or Microsoft Zune via a special AC adapter, and is slated for shipment late this month for 80 USD.
